Club1 competitions are recreation among members of a private club: the platform digitizes games clubs have always played, at recreational stakes, among people who know each other. Club 1 LLC (d/b/a Club1) still treats responsible play as a first-class obligation, because real money is real money. This policy describes the protections built into the platform, the tools available to you, and where to find help.
1. Protections Built Into the Platform
- 21 and older. Wallet and competition features require verified age 21 or older, checked against date of birth at identity verification.
- A closed community. Members compete only against verified members of their own club. There are no anonymous counterparties and no public marketplace, and the people who would notice a problem, club staff and playing partners, actually know you.
- Flat fees only. Club1 earns disclosed flat fees and never a percentage of any prize pool. The platform has no economic incentive toward larger stakes, and no mechanic that escalates them.
- Transaction limits. Single deposits are capped at $2,500 and single withdrawals at $5,000, with velocity limits, enforced server-side.
- No credit, no negative balances. You play on funded balances only; entries are escrowed before play; Club1 extends no credit for competition play.
- Full visibility. Your complete competition and money history is presented plainly, itemized to the cent. No mechanic obscures cumulative results.
2. Your Tools
Self-restriction and self-exclusion. You may restrict or suspend your own access to real-money competitions at any time, by request to your club's professional staff or to Club1 at ray@club1.io. Restrictions are applied without negotiation or delay, and no game invitation, event registration, or press can reach escrow for a restricted member.
Cooling-off. A restriction lifts only after a cooling-off period of at least 72 hours following your own request to resume, and only after you confirm at the end of that period.
Personal limits. Before real-money play launches, you will be able to set your own limits in the app: deposit limits, loss limits, and competition-frequency limits (a cap on real-money competition entries per week). Decreases take effect immediately; increases take effect only after a 24-hour delay.
Household concerns. A concern raised by a household member is routed to Club1's Compliance Officer and handled with the same seriousness as a self-report, within the limits of your own account rights.
3. How a Restriction Works
- Your request, to your club's pro or to Club1, is logged the same day it arrives.
- The restriction is applied to your account server-side, and you receive written confirmation.
- No marketing or competition-promoting communication is sent to you while restricted.
- A request to resume starts the 72-hour cooling-off clock; the restriction lifts only after it runs and you confirm.
4. What Club1 Watches For
Club1 may impose limits or pause competition access on its own initiative when patterns suggest play has stopped being recreation, including rapid loss escalation, deposit behavior inconsistent with history, or immediate re-entry at rising stakes after losses. Your club's professional staff may also pause competition access at their club where they judge it appropriate; Club1 honors that pause in the platform. Interventions are recorded and handled with discretion.
5. Marketing Standards
Club1 marketing never implies competition play is a way to make money, never presents stakes as status, and never targets restricted or self-excluded members. Leaderboards and social surfaces present performance without promoting stake escalation.
6. Where to Find Help
If gambling has stopped feeling like recreation, for you or someone in your household, free and confidential help is available around the clock:
- National Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-800-GAMBLER (call or text, 24/7)
- Ohio Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-800-589-9966
Requests for help or restriction are treated confidentially and never punitively. Asking for a restriction will never affect your standing, dues, or club relationship through any action of Club1's.
7. Review of This Policy
This policy is reviewed at least annually, on relevant regulatory development, and before any expansion beyond Ohio. Restriction requests and interventions are retained as compliance records for at least five years.
